PHOENIX - A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 190 years in prison for 14 counts of child prostitution.
Josef Dixon, 28, was stopped in May of 2017 after police witnessed him involved in a drug transaction near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road with several women in his vehicle.
After contacting Dixon, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Officers also interviewed the women in his vehicle at the time of the stop. Two of the women told officers they were 15 and 16 years of age and said that Dixon was their “pimp.”
The girls told officers they were sold in online ads for sex on several occasions and were told to conduct sexual activities with their “dates.”
Another woman, 28-year-old Miesha Tolliver, admitted that she and Dixon took photos of the girls for online ads and that they both knew their ages.
"Today's sentencing should serve as an example of the type of punishment we will pursue anyone who desires to profit from sex slavery. Make no mistake, whenever and wherever we can, we will partner with law enforcement to make Maricopa County the most unwelcome place to exploit children," said Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery.
Dixon denied that he was serving as the victims' pimp during questioning.
Tolliver was sentenced on November 2, 2018, to seven years in the Department of Corrections followed by three years of probation.
