TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank had their grand opening event.
The event brought in a lot of volunteers and donations of all types, including dog food and cat treats.
The Food Bank plans to trade food donations in exchange for volunteer hours from local rescues.
They plan to work with the southern Arizona VA and with the Pima Council on aging to provide animal food to those who need it.
In just three weeks, the organization will officially become a 501c3 non-profit, making it one of only three non-profit animal food banks in the country.
