TUCSON, Ariz. — Two cats, born in the same litter, were reunited after being apart for years.

Martina and Molly are both six years old, the pair were adopted out to separate families as kittens.

Staff at Pima Animal Care Center said both of their owners recently died and the cats were brought back to the shelter by relatives.

Staff searched records for the cats and discovered the two are actually sisters.

They're hoping to adopt them out, again, but this time together.

"We are going to try our best to find a home that will take the both of them. They need a home that understands, they're a little shy, they're a little scared," said Nikki Reck, at PACC.

PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road and its business hours are Monday through Friday Noon - 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
