A man arrested in March of 2016 for sexual assault has been convicted on several charges.

According to the Pima County Superior Court, Abraham Antonio Garcia was found guilty of sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

The attack happened on the south side last year.

Police say a woman was walking home from a store near South Tucson Blvd. and East Drexel Road with an infant and stroller near the 2300 block of East Calle Arroyo Lindo when she was approached by man. The man held a gun to her head and forced her to a nearby path, where he then assaulted her.

Police say the attack did not stop until the baby began to cry. The man then fled the area on foot.

Authorities say the baby was not hurt. The woman was evaluated at the hospital.
