TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police have closed off Craycroft Road near Waverly Street to investigate a serious injury crash involving three vehicles.
Sergeant Pete Dugan said a driver was traveling southbound on Craycroft and lost control of her vehicle, veered into northbound lanes and was hit by another vehicle. A third vehicle was also hit during the crash.
The woman was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Sgt. Dugan said a DUI investigation has been opened, and that the Pima County Sheriff's Department are investigating if the driver was involved in a hit and run incident from earlier today.
The driver of second vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and no one hurt in third vehicle.
Tucson Police Department has northbound traffic entirely shut down at Waverly. Southbound traffic is blocked down to one lane, with Hampton entirely closed.
Per Sergeant Dugan, TPD is asking drivers to use an alternate route if traveling in the area.
