Judge: Accused Phoenix killer can still get death penalty

Posted

A judge has ruled the death penalty is still on the table for the man accused of the Phoenix serial street killings.

Defense attorneys for Aaron Saucedo asked for the death penalty to be thrown out after jailhouse video of their client was released to the media. The judge said the video would not have a negative effect on Saucedo's case because it's considered a public record, and anyone could have asked for it at any time.

Saucedo has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and other charges stemming from attacks that killed nine people and wounded two more.
