SPD identify man who died in early Saturday morning shooting

SAHUARITA, Ariz. — Sahuarita Police have announced that the identity of the man who has died as a result of a shooting that happened early on Saturday in the 2200 block of East Sahuarita Road.

He is 59-year-old Manuel Bojorquez of Eloy, Arizona.

The second victim was released from the hospital after receiving medical treatment on Sunday, January 26.

Per SPD, the shooting occurred at 2 a.m., Jan. 26, and two people discovered shot and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

SPD interviews with witnesses and victims revealed that a group of Spanish-speaking males had entered the home with guns and fired. At least one suspect was described as a "Latino/Hispanic male with a lighter complexion."

Beyond this incident, SPD said there is no known threats to the public.
