Chances are if you have been to Sabino Canyon, you have either used or seen the shuttle system.
On Friday, the Coronado National Forest announced the new operator that will take over operation and maintenance of the system.
Regional Partnering Center was selected by a panel made up of employees from the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service.
By 2023 a full fleet of electric vehicles will be used for transportation through Sabino Canyon, according to Heidi Schewel, Public Affairs Specialist for the Coronado National Forest Forest Service.
Schewel said sound will be provided in enclosed passenger cabins and other forms of payment will be accepted in addition to cash.
