A second worker sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate the workers were installing a new water main along West Pecos Way, near an energized Tucson Electric Power line. The power line broke and fell into a trench where the workers were located. The cause of the break is still under investigation.
