Raytheon celebrates pride month

TUCSON, Ariz. - Raytheon Missile Systems is celebrating pride month here in Tucson.

June is pride month nation wide.

Pride month commemorates the unofficial start of equality for LGBTQ people following the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Greenwich Village.

Raytheon celebrated with the community by raising a rainbow flag at their Tucson plant on Monday morning.

Colandra Bonaparte, a Raytheon employee says "It really does feel great to see the outpouring of support for the LGBTQ community and for our company to show that employees really can bring their full self to work."

Raytheon has included protections for transgender employees since 2005.

They say the company is proud of their diverse and inclusive culture.
