Purple ribbons promoting water safety for drowning impact awareness month

TUCSON, Ariz. — August is the most common time for reported child drownings in Arizona.

Governor Doug Ducey and others have named August s drowning impact awareness month (DIAM).

Throughout this month purple ribbons are used to create awareness and promote water safety.

You can pick up a ribbon to wear at any of the fire stations in the Tucson area.

Tucson Fire would also like to remind folks of the ABC's, adult supervision, barriers, and classes.
