TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police say a suspect is in custody after a social media threat prompted a soft lockdown at Pueblo High School and Rincon High School Tuesday morning.

A TPD spokesperson says a student was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with the threat at Pueblo HIgh School Tuesday afternoon. The Rincon lockdown was lifted about a half an hour after it was issued.

A TUSD spokesperson said additional TPD officers were on hand at both school Tuesday morning.

In a soft lockdown, classes continue at the school but students are not be permitted to leave their classrooms to go to other classes, a TUSD spokesperson said.

The district says some parents did choose to pick up students early at Pueblo High School Tuesday morning.

The news comes amid several other threats Monday across southern Arizona, including Pueblo High School. Another threat prompted all schools in the Sahuarita School District to shut down Monday and Tuesday.
