Sierra Vista police arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor.
Police say Anthony Perez also faces aggravated luring of a minor and sexual conduct with a minor charges. Police arrested Perez as part of a sting operation.
Police investigated Perez after they learned he had molested a girl he had befriended over the course of multiple years. Police posing as the girl started communicating with him electronically.
Police got Perez to try to meet the girl after he thought she agreed to sneak out of her home without her parents' permission. Police arrested him at the meeting place they set up at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Perez was booked into Cochise County Jail on charges of sexual assault, sexual conduct with a minor, aggravated luring of a minor, DUI to the slightest degree, and DUI with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08. He is being held without bond.
