Tucson Police arrested a serial armed robber and an accomplice early Wednesday morning.
Police arrested 33-year-old Jamar Roshaun Atkins and determined that he was a suspect in over 15 cases since late July 2016.
On August 21 Atkins entered the Circle K located at 2750 North Tucson Blvd and asked the clerk for several packs of cigarettes.
As the clerk rang up the purchase the suspect then stated he had a gun and demanded money from the register.
Surveillance photos of this event were released to KGUN and dispersed through social media.
Shortly after, detectives received a tip that led to the suspect.
Atkins surrendered to officers without incident in the 3700 block of E. Bellevue St.
In addition to Atkins, an adult female identified as an accomplice was also located and arrested.
She has been identified as 28-year-old Melissa Rose Harmsen.
Atkins was arrested on the felony Armed Robbery Warrant along with an outstanding Department of Corrections Parole Violation Warrant.
Harmsen was arrested for Facilitation to commit Armed Robbery.
They were both transported and booked into the Pima County Jail.
Tucson Police want to thank the Auto Theft Task Force and the U.S. Marshals for the assistance with this case.
