Man dies after shooting near eastside apartment complex

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened Friday afternoon near the eastside.

Police say officers responded to the area of 1700 block of South Craycroft Road for a report of a shooting at an apartment complex.

Upon arrival officers found a man with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Police say the victim had multiple gunshot wounds, but was able to communicate with officers.

Tucson Fire Department crews took the victim to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries. The victim later died at the hospital.

Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Julian Holmes.

Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation and determined the shooting happened outside of an apartment in the complex.

Detectives say a resident made a 911 call after Holmes knocked on the door asking for help.

Holmes was associated with the apartment complex, but did not live their, according to TPD.

Police say there are no suspects in custody.
