Tucson police investigated a midtown shooting Wednesday.
Police say a 17-year-old boy was injured in possible drive-by shooting.
TPD says 17yo was shot during a possible drive by on Alvernon. He and friends were driving when the back window exploded and the 17yo (driver) realized he was hit. Kids pulled over and called driver's mom.

The boy was driving with friends when a bullet went through the back window and hit him around 11 a.m. He is expected to survive.

Police have shut down southbound Alvernon from 22nd to 29th as they investigated the incident in the 1800 block of South Alvernon Way.
Police are asking for those with information about the incident to call 88-CRIME.
