Sierra Vista police have arrested Cochise County Constable Scott McManaway for thefts connected to a fraudulent scheme after serving multiple search warrants Friday, according to a news release.

Police say as part of an investigation into allegations of theft, officers and detectives served warrants at McManaway's personal residence, the Cochise County Constable's Office, and within the county-owned vehicles he had been using in connection with his elected office.

Authorities say they discovered and seized evidence of multiple thefts from McManaway's personal residence and at the constable's office.

He has been charged with three counts of theft and one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices. McManaway is being held in the Cochise County Jail.
