Pipeline repairs affects traffic in South side

Pipeline repairs affects traffic in South side
Posted
Drivers in the South side can expect delays on a busy road.

Crews will be repairing a 54'' underground water pipeline on Columbus from 29th to Blacklidge, prompting lane restrictions for more than a month.

Restrictions are in place on north and south bound lanes on Columbus for about 4 miles. The Tucson Water Department says the restrictions are only on some spots of Columbus from 29th to Blacklidge.

Restrictions:
  • Traffic is restricted to one lane each direction between 29th and 24th
  • No turns are allowed on to Broadway.
  • Bike lane and left turn lane closed on 5th
  • Lanes are being diverted on Flower and Blacklidge

Tucson Water says water service to customers will not be affected. Repairs are expected to be completed by April 1.
