TUCSON, Ariz. — A Pima Community College campus was placed on lockdown amid an active suspect search Friday morning.
According to a text alert from the college at around 11 a.m., an armed, domestic violence suspect was last seen headed toward the college's Desert Vista campus, which sits just west of I-10 on Tucson's south side.
An alert from the college describes the suspect as shirtless and wearing red pants.
Police say the public should avoid the area, and those on campus should stay inside during the search.
Another text alert from the college at around 11:45 a.m. said police had checked and cleared all campus buildings, but the campus would remain on lockdown while police check the surrounding desert area.
A few minutes later, another text said police had taken the suspect into custody and lifted the lockdown.
