TUCSON, Ariz. — Human remains found Monday along the Pima Canyon Trail have the Pima County Sheriff's Department investigating the death and the U.S. Forest Service closing the area.

No information has been released on how the person died or whether it's a male or female but Arizona Game and Fish says the remains were disturbed by wild animals.

"We don't think it's animal attack, but we can't rule it out at this time," Mark Hart of AZGFD said.

Late Tuesday the Forest Service announced the Pima Canyon trail and trails near it will be closed at least until January 14th while Game and Fish works to trap mountain lions described as having interacted with humans in the area.
