TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train at about 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning near East Trinity Terrace and South Nogales Highway, according to Union Pacific Railroad Company.
The incident did not occur at a crossing. No one on the train crew was injured. Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene, but subsequently turned the investigation over to Union Pacific.
The incident is still under investigation.
