A pedestrian has died after an early morning crash near Valencia and Fiesta Saturday.
Tucson police say the collision was reported around 2:30 a.m. When officers got to the scene, they found community members giving a man CPR in the roadway.
Officers took over treatment upon their arrival but 41-year-old Gabriel Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic investigators with TPD determined that the driver of a gray 2014 Toyota Rav 4 was headed westbound on Valencia in the median lane when Ramirez ran across the road, not using a crosswalk.
The driver was not able to stop and hit Ramirez. The driver stopped immediately and stayed at the scene.
Detectives are working to determine whether speed was a factor in the crash, but the driver did not show any signs of impairment.
No arrests or citations have been issued at this time.
