Painted javelina sculptures coming to Tucson International Airport

TUCSON, Ariz. — Javelinas de Tubac sculptures painted by local artists will be installed at the Tucson International Airport Wednesday.

The sculptures will be installed starting at 12 p.m. at TIA, 7250 S. Tucson Boulevard.

The art consists of 40 adult javelina and six sets of baby javelina sculptures.

Six of those javelinas will be available to the public, at TIA, through the end of March 2020.

Javelinas de Tubac is an outdoor exhibit located mainly throughout Tubac.

The goal of the art is to encourage the community to visit the art, which was organized by Tubac Center of the Arts.
