Organizations help #RedForEd supporters stay safe in heat

Supporters of the #RedForEd movement were met with one of the hottest days of the year during their protest Thursday.

Many local businesses and organizations provided water, snacks, shade, and sunscreen during the rally.

Truckloads of water cases and ice chests were set up along the march route and all around the State Capitol.

Phoenix business owner Dean Van Kirk said they donated thousands of water bottles to keep teachers hydrated.

We donated 11,000 bottles of water for the hottest day of the year today. We want to make sure we all stay hydrated and healthy Thats all we could fit in out truck, we are making sure we support our teachers and they all stay healthy, he said.
