The U.S. Marshals Service were out in Tucson on Halloween Night for Operation Safe Treat 2018.
The operation is conducted to ensure convicted sex offenders on supervision are not participating in trick-or-treat activities.

The Arizona Sex Offender Registry allows you to view sex offenders who live in your area.
In Tucson, there are 1,085 registered sex offenders.
On a night where children are out and susceptible to danger, the Marshals are making sure offenders are following the rules.
Throughout the entire month of October, the Marshals work with local law enforcement to nab offenders.
On Halloween night, they visited 200 level 2 and 3 sex offenders. The lowest level of sex offenders who don't have to register won't get visited.
The Marshals check to make sure the offenders are home, don't have any Halloween decorations, and the porch lights are off.
The goal of Operation Safe Treat is to help parents feel safer about their kids enjoying Halloween night.
