TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson Police have identified the suspect involved in the east side shooting who was seriously injured on Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Antajuan S. Carson.
TPD say the officer involved, who is Alvaro Silva a 3 and a half year veteran of the department.
Police say Silva will be investigated by detectives and the Office of Professional Standards is conducting their own separate look into the incident.

On Sunday, around 2:30 a.m., officer Silva pulled over an individual for a basic traffic stop nearby North Rosemont and East Speedway.
During the stop, the driver immediately started shooting at officer Silva.
Officer Silva returned fire.
During the gunfire, the driver was struck multiple times, sustaining life-threatening injuries, while officer Silva avoided injury.
Police say a passenger of the suspect's vehicle then got in the driver seat and fled the scene.
Officer Silva requested more units, who arrived and gave first aid to the driver.
The driver was then rushed to the hospital.
Detectives from the homicide unit from internal affairs started an investigation into the incident.
