ADOT says bridge girders have already gone up earlier this month over the westbound lanes of I-10 and the latest project is to build a bridge on Ina that will be able to cross the Santa Cruz River.
Bridge girders will be placed over the Ina bridge this week. ADOT says there will be a total of two bridges that end up being built over I-10.
ADOT says they are overseeing the $128 million project, which is funded by the Federal Highway Administration, the Pima Association of Governments and the Regional Transportation Authority.
The town of Marana is contributing $7.9 million toward the cost of the new bridges over the Santa Cruz River west of I-10.
