It was a big welcome for the 22nd President of the University of Arizona, Dr. Robert Robbins.
An installation took place Wednesday afternoon at Centennial Hall.

Governor Doug Ducey says, the state of Arizona is lucky to have Dr. Robbins as the newest leader of the University.

"He's going to make a big difference in Southern Arizona and the entire state," says Ducey.
Dr. Robbins also referred to as "Bobby " comes to the University with a big vision.
"We can be the University that solves the burden of cancer, sends humans to Mars and revolutionizes food production for the world."
His goals for the University include, becoming the top premiere tier one research institution.
"We already are in the Top 35 but we want to advance that," says Dr. Robbins.
Robbins add, "We are at about 600 million dollars in research expenditures and we want to increase our graduation and retention rate."
