Allegiant has announced it will start service to Tucson, with nonstop routes from Bellingham, Washington and Provo, Utah.
In a press release Tuesday, the airline says it is thrilled to "add another sunny Southwestern destination to our network."
The new flights will operate twice weekly and are expected to bring more than 35,000 new visitors to Tucson.
On Monday, Tucson International Airport announced it was bringing new, nonstop destinations.
TIA officials are expected to make the official announcement Tuesday morning. The airport just announced nonstop service from Tucson to Denver via Frontier earlier this month.
