There will be a new place to cool off during the hot days on the southwest side of Tucson soon.
On Saturday, July 28th, the Warden Family Splash Pad is set to open at 10 a.m. during a dedication ceremony at Winston Reynolds-Manzanita Park.
The splash pad will feature water canons, snake sprays and a water bucket that will provide plenty of fun for kids and those young at heart.
Funding for the $750,000 project came from two General Obligation bonds and a $200,000 donation from Chandler Warden. Warden oversees charitable work for the Bert W. Martin Foundation. In June, the Pima County Parks and Recreation Commission voted to name the splash pad in honor of the Warden family.
