A ribbon ceremony was held Wednesday to celebrate the opening of Marana Police Department's new facility.
The $23 Million dollar project includes expanded training facilities, improved security, brand new K-9 amenities, which will offer dog kennels, a care center and indoor/outdoor areas, and larger administrative records rooms. The public will also be able to make use of a new public building through its inclusive community room.
The building is the result of months of public education and outreach, a community-supported half-cent sales tax increase, and research of planning and development, according to a press release by the Marana Communications Manager.
Groundbreaking for this facility began in June 2017.
