According to the National Park Service website, the price of the senior pass has been $10 since 1994.
The cost of the lifetime senior pass is increasing as result of the legislation passed by Congress on December 16, 2016. According to NPS, the legislation says that the senior lifetime pass must equal the cost of the existing America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, which is $80.
Current lifetime senior passes will remain valid, according to NPS.
NPS will also offer annual senior passes for seniors on a budget for $20.
