TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson pastor died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 19 Friday morning.
In a Facebook post from St. Christopher Catholic Church, Bishop Edward Weisenburger of the Diocese of Tucson said Father Raul Valencia was killed in the crash near Sahuarita.
Father Valencia is the pastor of Santa Monica Parish in Tucson, Weisenburger said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the two-vehicle crash happened at kilometer 78 in the median at around 8:14 a.m. A DPS spokesperson says the victim was alone in his vehicle.
Weisenburger said Valencia was on his way to visit family.
DPS is continuing to investigate the wreck.
