Customs and Border Protection agents say a 43-year-old woman is in custody Wednesday after she attempted to cross the border in Nogales with $13,000 of methamphetamine.
It happened Tuesday morning. CBP officers say the woman was stopped at the pedestrian crossing and officers found two packages of the drugs in her purse. They found a third package later in her undergarments. In total, the drugs weighed more than 4 pounds.
Officers eventually turned the woman over to ICE's Homeland Security Investigations unit.
