A Tucson man was sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal firearm possession by a felon.

U.S. District Judge David C. Bury sentenced 34-year-old Marc Ryan Shipley to 96 months in prison Wednesday.

Shipley had been convicted of felony offenses of conspiracy to commit bribery of a public official and interference with commerce and extortion in 2007.

In 2016, Shipley entered Benson Justice Court with a handgun, and was also found with a pistol in a hip holster and another firearm in his vehicle.

ATF agents searched Shipley's home and found eight more guns and 1,754 rounds of ammo.
