A 43-year-old man was sentenced to more than two years of prison time after making multiple false bomb threats in Tucson and the Phoenix area.

Authorities say Octavio Acosta De La Torre of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico was sentenced to 33 months of prison time on Tuesday.

He previously pleaded to guilty to false threats to persons and property using or affecting interstate commerce.

Between March 21 and April 1 of last year De La Torre made 20 false bomb threats to various business and government offices, including schools and military recruiting stations, that resulted in many closures and evacuations.
