TUCSON, Ariz. — A Marana man has pleaded guilty on March 1 to a felony fraud count for embezzling funds from a Marana youth football team.
Steve Leslie Marshall Jr., per the Pima County courts, doesn't have a sentence yet, but he could face anywhere between four and 12.5 years in prison.
Originally, per Attorney General Mark Brnovich, Steve Leslie Marshall faced two counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices, three counts of theft and three counts of forgery.
Marshall was accused of embezzling $54,000 from the organization via debit card and checks written to "cash." He also allegedly falsified three state tax returns to hide the money he stole.
His sentencing will take place on June 10 of this year.
