The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested on terrorism charges.

On Nov. 6, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office was told about a social media threat that was attributed to a person in the Sierra Vista area.

Deputies worked with the FBI and the Arizona Fusion Center, also known as Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center to track down information about the threat.

Deputies were able to track the threat to an account reportedly owned by Kurtis Lemaster, 27, who was residing on North Fifth Street in Sierra Vista. The information also indicated that Lemaster has threatened a "school shooting" in the area before.

Deputies and detectives found the residence where Lemaster was and conducted a surveillance while a search warrant was obtained. Deputies learned that Lemaster recently lived in Michigan and he made threats in the Pontiac and Detroit areas as well.

Lemaster was booked into the Cochise County Jail, without bond.
