The University of Arizona Police Department says Ivar Lortz Valenzuela has been arrested in connection to an assault on a UAPD officer that happened on Oct. 26.
Valenzuela has been charged with one count of aggravated assault on a peace officer. He also cannot be on the UA campus in any way for the next year.
A UAPD officer was called to investigate a bicycle theft on Oct. 26 in the 1200 block of East Speedway. UAPD says Valenzuela kicked the officer in the face when the officer caught up to him. Valenzuela then ran into a nearby neighborhood. The officer suffered minor injuries. On Oct. 31, UAPD requested the public's help to find Valenzuela. On Nov. 9, he was arrested by the South Tucson Police Department.
