The Arizona Game and Fish Department said a hiker was attacked by a "possibly rabid fox" on Saturday.

The fox bit the hiker, but it did not break the skin. The hiker then scared the fox away.

"Foxes, bats & skunks are the most common rabies carriers," the AZ Game and Fish Department said in the X post. "If suspected call 623-236-7201 ASAP."
