Tucson police announced Friday that the new "Hands-Free" ordinance will go into effect on May 1st.
The ordinance states that no person shall use a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle.
According to the Tucson Police Department, using a cell phone while driving will still be permitted as long as the driver is using a Bluetooth (hands-free) device.
