TUCSON, Ariz. — The annual Haiku Hike literacy contest is back and interested poets can enter Haiku poem submissions.

The Downtown Tucson Partnership and the University of Arizona Poetry Center announced this year's theme is "living in the present moment." Poets are encouraged to submit Haiku reflecting this theme.

20 winning poems will be printed on signs that will be displayed in planters located on Congress Street and Stone Avenue in Downtown Tucson. Winners will also have their poems featured online and in the media as well.

Entries will be judged by Tucson's Poet Laureate, TC Tolbert.

Poets can enter here and submissions will be accepted until March 10.

Last year, Downtown Tucson Partnership says 977 haiku were submitted. 825 came from Tucson and the remaining came from 12 different states and five countries.
