Tucson police placed Gridley Middle School on lockdown Monday due to concerns about an unknown person on campus. The lockdown was later lifted.

The Tucson Unified School District school is at 350 S. Harrison Road.

TUSD spokesowman Karla Escamilla released this statement:

Gridley had been placed in a lockdown after a report of an unknown person in the basketball court area. After a search outside and inside campus, School Safety confirmed that the area was clear and the lockdown was lifted. School Safety will remain on campus as a precaution. Classes and activities continue as normal.
