TUCSON, Ariz. — The Gospel Rescue Mission is asking for donations for the annual Thanksgiving Banquet and Christmas dinner.
The holiday meals have been held for decades, but this year may look a little different.
Gospel Rescue Mission Victor Hightower says "This is the 31st year we're doing our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas banquets. We used to have them on the street in front of our old men's center. But since we moved here, we're kind of excited we'll be doing that for the first time inside. That will be coming up in November and December, we'll have both events here inside."
They are asking the community to donate frozen turkeys; and cans of vegetables, fruit, and cranberry sauce.
Donations will be accepted at the Center of Opportunity, 4550 S. Palo Verde Road, or at the Women’s Recovery Center, 707 W. Miracle Mile.
Gospel Rescue Mission says hey served 2,458 meals last Thanksgiving.
