Arizona Game and Fish officials are offering a $1,000 reward to help catch a whitetail deer poacher.
The reward was recently increased from $750 to $1,000.
According to the department, the deer was found dead Nov. 6 northwest of Mount Lemmon and American Flag Ranch Road. The deer had been shot and skinned.
"Poachers are not hunters, but thieves stealing wildlife that belongs to the citizens of Arizona," Karen Klima of Game and Fish in Tucson said in a statement. "No true sportsman would leave game in the field this way."
The illegal taking of wildlife is punishable by a $750 fine and six months in jail.
