Funeral services are scheduled Friday for a rookie Arizona state trooper who was fatally shot last week while struggling with a suspect.
Trooper Tyler Edenhofer died Wednesday night, just two months after graduating from the Arizona Department of Public Safety academy. The 24-year-old U.S. Navy veteran was engaged to be married.
A candlelight vigil was scheduled for Monday night on the lawn of the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix.
Edenhofer's funeral will be held Friday morning in Peoria.
Motorists reported a man throwing items at vehicles along Interstate 10 in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear and a fight broke out after troopers made contact with the suspect.
DPS officials say the 20-year-old suspect somehow got a hold of another trooper's gun and Edenhofer was shot and killed.
