Free shuttle service available for Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Showcase

TUCSON, Ariz. — The first of the Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Showcase events are underway and the city is helping you get around to the vendors.

The GemRide shuttle system connects 43 shows from 36 stops along four routes.

These are the four GemShuttle routes according to the City of Tucson:

Downtown Gem Loop: This route connects parking in the downtown area with 17 shows stretching from 22nd street and I-10 to the Tucson Convention Center and then to shows near the Tucson Metro Chamber.

Mineral & Fossil Loop: This loop connects to 20 shows that span from Granada Avenue/St. Mary's Road through Oracle Road/Drachman Street to Miracle Milke and Grant Road/I-10.

Kino Gem Loop: The Kino Gem Loop connects to seven shows from Palo Verde Road/Irvington, to the Kino Sports Complex, and to the Kino Boulevard/Benson Highway area.

Casino del Sol Express: This route connects to three Bead Shows at Casino del Sol.

In addition to the GemShuttle, the Hub Express is also offeringrides between the Downtown Mercado Shuttle/Parking Hub and the Kino Gem Shuttle/Parking Hub.

Hours of service vary: Downtown Gem Loop runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Mineral & Fossil Loop shuttles run 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Kino Gem Loop and Casino del Sol Express shuttles run from 9:30am to 6:30pm.
