TUCSON, Ariz. - A former Cienega High School assistant basketball coach who was accused of sexual conduct with a student pleaded guilty to lesser charges Friday.
Seneca Turner, 37, was arrested Feb. 14, 2018. He pleaded guilty to attempted sexual conduct with a minor by one in a position of trust. The school sent parents a letter Feb. 15 saying he was being fired.
According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Turner had allegedly been sending explicit messages to a 17-year-old girl who is a student at the school.
Turner was also a member of the school's security staff.
He will be sentenced April 8.
