Food for Fines received over 10,000 pounds of donated foods

TUCSON, Ariz. - The food for fines at Pima County Libraries was a success this year with over 10,000 pounds of donated food.

During the two weeks of the fundraiser more than 10,000 pounds of foods were donated to local food banks.

About 8,000 dollars worth of library fines were cleared. Helping over 4,000 library customers reconnect with the library by not having to worry about fines on their accounts.

The donated foods supported the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

Food for Fines started April 15 and went through April 30.
