University of Arizona health officials are ramping up their flu prevention campaign early this year due to signs that the sickness is popping up on campus.

There have been 97 cases of flu or flu-like illnesses since mid-August. More than 30 of thos ehave been confirmed as flu cases.
Students and staffers are encouraged to get flu shots, which doctors recognize as the most effective means of prevention. Other common-sense approaches, such as washing your hands and avoiding close proximity with those suffering the flu, are also encouraged.
